Gaëtan Parseihian

Gaëtan Parseihian is a composer of electroacoustic music and a researcher in the field of sound perception.
He is one of the three founders of the “Brane Project” acousmonium. He is also an associate artist with the Deletere collective and the Soma collective, which provides sound massages. His practice is focused on “cinema for the ear”, acousmatic improvisation and the spatialisation of sound. At the same time, he is a practising researcher in the field of sound perception and spatialisation.

Gaëtan Parseihian est compositeur de musique électroacoustique et chercheur dans le domaine de la perception sonore.
Créateur avec trois collaborateurs de l’acousmonium « Brane Project », il est artiste associé au collectif Deletere et fait partie du collectif Soma qui propose des massages sonores. Sa pratique est axée sur le cinéma pour l’oreille, l’improvisation acousmatique et la mise en espace du son. Parallèlement, il exerce une activité de chercheur dans le domaine de la perception sonore et de la spatialisation.

La forêt mécanique / 2011

Written like a fairy tale, La forêt mécanique (the mechanical forest) illustrates the cohabitation between the Natural and the Artificial. These two entities face, confront and oppose each other, until they eventually reach total symbiosis, a chimerical body that integrates the respective specificities of each one. At the end of this struggle, nature recovers its rights, even though it has evolved. The dualistic and chaotic universe is replaced by a new soothing and peaceful world where disorder gives way to unity.

Formulée à la manière d'un conte, La forêt mécanique illustre la cohabitation entre le Naturel et l'Artificiel. Ces deux entités s'affrontent, se confrontent, s'opposent jusqu'à réaliser au final une symbiose totale, une entité chimérique intégrant les spécificités de chacune. À la fin de ce combat, la nature reprend ses droits, non sans avoir évolué. L’univers dualiste et chaotique laisse place à un nouveau monde, apaisant et calme où le désordre s’efface devant l’unité.
